Screenshots are a quick and easy way to capture whatโ€™s on your screen โ€” whether you need to share an issue with support, save important information, or document a process. Follow the steps below to create a screenshot on your computer or mobile device.


๐Ÿ’ป On a Computer

Windows

Option 1: Print Screen (PrtScn)

  1. Press PrtScn on your keyboard.
  2. This copies your entire screen to the clipboard.
  3. Open Paint, Word, or your email, then press Ctrl + V to paste the image.

Option 2: Snipping Tool / Snip & Sketch

  1. Press Windows + Shift + S.
  2. Your screen will dim โ€” drag to select the area you want to capture.
  3. The image is copied to your clipboard.
  4. Click the notification that appears to edit or save it.

Option 3: Windows + Print Screen

  1. Press Windows + PrtScn at the same time.
  2. The screen may flash briefly โ€” that means it worked.
  3. Find your screenshot in: Pictures > Screenshots

Option 1: Capture the Entire Screen

  • Press Command + Shift + 3 โ†’ The screenshot is saved automatically to your desktop.

Option 2: Capture a Selected Area

  • Press Command + Shift + 4 โ†’ Click and drag to select an area of the screen. โ†’ Release the mouse to capture it.

Option 3: Capture a Specific Window

  • Press Command + Shift + 4, then tap the Spacebar โ†’ Click the window you want to capture.

Option 1: Button Shortcut

  1. Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons at the same time.
  2. The screen will flash, and a small thumbnail may appear.
  3. Your screenshot is saved to the Photos or Gallery app โ†’ Screenshots folder.

๐Ÿ’ก Tip: Some Android devices (like Samsung) also allow a palm swipe gesture to capture a screenshot.

Option 2: Quick Settings or Google Assistant

  • Say โ€œHey Google, take a screenshotโ€, or
  • Open your Quick Settings menu and tap the Screenshot button (if available).

๐Ÿ“ฑ iPhone / iPad

Option 1: Using Buttons

  • Face ID devices (no Home button): Press Side Button + Volume Up
  • Touch ID devices (with Home button): Press Home Button + Side/Top Button

Your screen will flash, and a preview will appear in the bottom-left corner. You can tap it to edit, or it will automatically save to: Photos โ†’ Albums โ†’ Screenshots
