๐Ÿ›ณ๏ธ Ship Types and Requirements

WHAT ARE DIFFERENT SHIP TYPES

Ships in Port City are categorized into 5 different types - Rarity, Propulsion, Region, Power Level and Event affiliation- Badges - based on their attributes that are further used within the Jobs.

WHERE ARE SHIP REQUIREMENTS AND JOB RESTRICTIONS USED

Job restrictions (Ship Requirements) determine which ships can be assigned to a job and are clearly shown on each Job Card to help Port Managers strategize.

Depending on type and difficulty, each job can have one to three restrictions at once, based on the five different ship types.

DIFFERENT SHIP TYPES AND REQUIREMENTS

The five ship attributes- Rarity, Propulsion, Region, Power Level, and Event Badges - are shown on both Job Cards and in the Dock, making it easy to see which ships fit each job.

1. RARITY

Job cards can restrict which ships you can send based on their rarity, indicated by a circled star.

Port City ships come in four rarities - Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary - identified by their background color in the Dock.

2. REGION

Job cards can restrict ships by region, indicated by the number inside the icon.

Each region features its own themed ships (including acquired Event Ships), which can be used within that region or for special Event Jobs requiring them.

3. TYPE OF PROPULSION

Propulsion in Job cards limits which ships depending on their "fuel" and propulsion method can be sent to a job!

Currently there are 4 different types of propulsions - Wind, Steam, Diesel and Electric.

4. POWER REQUIREMENT

Power requirements restrict which ships can be sent to a job based on their upgrade (power) level.

Represented by a brown box with a number, this icon shows the minimum power a ship must have to qualify (equal to or greater than the required value).

Jobs can generate power requirements even if you don't yet own a ship that meets them (0 Suitable Ships).

5. EVENT AFFILIATION- BADGES

vent Badges on Job cards restrict jobs to ships carrying a matching Event Badge.

The badge icon displays the event's unique artwork and can be combined with other conditions (such as Power Requirements) for an extra challenge.

JOB CARD SAYS I HAVE 0 SUITABLE SHIPS - WHAT TO DO

If you cannot assign ships to a Job, the most common reason is an unmet Power Requirement, displayed on the Job Card as a boxed number.

Unlike other restrictions, Power Requirements limit ships by their upgraded carrying capacity - meaning you may have zero available ships if none meet the specified level on the Job Card.

What to do:

  • Upgrade your ships to increase their power to the required level, so you can send them to that job

  • Trash the Job using the trash icon to draw a new one with different conditions
