COMPANY TASKS

We've rolled out a significant feature, and we wanted to give you a proper rundown before you dive in.

What are Company Tasks?

Company Tasks are structured objectives designed to guide your progress across all the core areas of the game — your train fleet, rail yard facilities, and city construction. Think of them as a roadmap for building a well-rounded railroad empire rather than speeding ahead in one area while leaving others behind. The tasks are designed to be completable at a relaxed pace — you shouldn't need to rush to get through them.

How do they work?

Tasks come in sets of three sub-tasks. For example, a single set called 'Train Fleet 1/10' might include sub-tasks to own 10 cargo locomotives, own 40 freight cars, and dispatch 15 freight trains. Completing this set grants you an XP reward (sometimes Train Bucks or Gems) and unlocks another task set. Complete all task sets in one era and you get to progress to another era.

Progressing Through Eras

That's right. Era progression is now handled through the Task List. It even checks if you have set up Regular Lines or completed the Era Pass. The old 'Era Goals' panel on the global map screen has been retired. Everything you need to progress is now in one place. We hope this will make progressing more transparent for both new and experienced players. One more thing: extra XP accumulated at the end of an era will not carry over to the next era. However, you won't lose out on any progress because the relevant tasks will also wait for you in the next era.

Goodbye Achievements

You have probably already noticed that Company Tasks overlap a lot with the old Achievement mechanic. That's because the tasks are meant to improve on and replace them. No worries — XP and Gems from Achievements have been moved to the Company Task rewards, so you won't miss out. We are currently reviewing Achievements and hope they will come back in a more exciting way in the future.

Getting Started

The next time you log in, you'll automatically receive your first set of Company Tasks matched to where you currently are in the game. If you're a veteran with a well-developed railroad, you may breeze right through them. To find your tasks, tap the Tasks button on the left side of the main HUD. It now brings together both your Company Tasks and Weekly Tasks in one spot.
